RITA Nomination!!!

Hi gang,

I waited a few days to post this just to make sure I wasn’t dreaming.

–pinches herself–Ouch. Nope, not dreaming.

With humongous happiness in my heart I will come out and say it.
I am a RITA-award nominated author. Woot woot!!! This is crazy exciting.

LOCK AND LOAD is going to the finals right beside J.D. Robb! Holy cow, I might explode with joy!

Thank you to the judges at RWA who read my book and felt it worthy to go to the next level.
Thank you dear family and friends who support and encourage me everyday.
Thank you God for this unbelievably beautiful gift.

I’m going to New York, baby. Oh my gosh! –pinches herself again–Ouch.

Big hugs to you all.

Have a wonderful Easter.

Kimberley

Book Signing by NY Times and USA Today Bestselling Author, Kimberley Troutte

Like Santa Barbara author Sue Grafton, local author Kimberley Troutte wrote “what she knew” and set God Whisperer in a fictional town that should feel familiar to Santa Ynez Valley residents.
Solberg is a Danish community nestled in the hills above Santa Bonita California. Known for its aebleskivers, wineries, and quirky, loveable residents, it is suspiciously similar to the town Troutte loves to call home.
God Whisperer is an Inspirational Suspense about a mother and her young son who are hiding for their lives in Solberg when an ear surgery allows the boy to hear God.
The book came from being in a scary place when a mother realizes she is not good enough, strong enough, or smart enough to face the challenges ahead for her child.

Troutte credits her son, Logan Hernandez, as her inspiration.
Logan was born with one incomplete, deaf ear. The surgeons at UCLA created an eardrum and canal for him out of his own tissue when he was six years old. For the first time since birth, he could hear sounds with both ears. The miracle of it all fired up Troutte’s imagination and her desire to give back.
Logan is now fourteen and competes in mud runs like the local American Hot Shot mud run where he won first place in his group.
To help others going through similar trials, Kimberley Troutte is donating 10% of her author royalties to the American Society for Deaf Children.

She will also be signing her Romantic Suspense SEAL EXtreme Team series books.

THANK YOU!

Taking a moment today to say thank you to my readers. You all rock!

You’ve bought my books, told a friend, given me fantastic reviews, sent sweet personal letters and spread the news about my stories. You are the best readers a girl could have. And I’m not just saying that because you are so darned good looking either. I mean it from the bottom of my heart.

I am so, so grateful.

Do something nice for yourself today as a present from me.

Hugs,

Kimberley

Choose Wisely

Did you do something kind for a stranger today? Yesterday?

Try to make a conscious effort to perform small acts of love for others. Those kind deeds will make all the difference in your day. I promise. Get out there and try it.

I’m Officially A Mother of a College Student

How in the heck did that happen?

Time is such a weird thing. I remember reaching down and grasping my toddler’s little hand as he learned to walk. It was yesterday, wasn’t it?

Now I can visualize his long legs proudly carrying him across campus. He’s finding his first room, learning the ropes, meeting other students. Wow, that was me the day before yesterday, wasn’t it?

Clearly, no.Time has zoomed by. And I have loved every minute of it. Every second.

I can’t wait to hear about his day.
Mine is a bit lonely, but I won’t tell him that. I’ll tell him to enjoy every second and try to make them last.

Hugs to all you parents out there.

Worldwide Character Blog Tour

Oh, the characters are walking amongst us. Look out!

Elaine Cantrell tagged me to participate in the Character Blog Tour. Elaine’s blog: Hope. Dreams.Life…Love
You can also find her on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/elainepcantrell

For this tour the author is supposed to talk about a new Work In Progress or released book. I am going to talk about GOD WHISPERER.
1) What is the name of your character? Is he/she fictional or a historic person?
Lonnie Hogan is fictional, but many of her emotions about being a mother of a child with a disability are pretty close to being real. I’ve felt many of the same emotions.
2) When and where is the story set?
GOD WHISPERER is present time in a small Danish village in California called Solberg.
3) What should we know about him/her?
Lonnie has some pretty big secrets (hopefully, some the reader won’t see coming). She is running from her dangerous past and is only concerned about protecting her son and trying to give him a normal life.
4) What is the main conflict? What messes up his/her life?
Lonnie is hiding from a bad guy who has been chasing her for years. Imagine how hard it would be to change your name, fall off the grid, and bury yourself deep into a small town where you don’t know a soul. Oh, and then think how scary it would be to believe doctors botched your little boy’s surgery because he now thinks he can hear God. And people around you are starting to believe it too which brings the paparazzi out of the woodwork.
5) What is the personal goal of the character?

To give her son the most “normal” life possible.

6) Is there a title for this novel, and can we read more about it?
GOD WHISPERER was just released by Astraea Press.
7) When can we expect the book to be published?
Now, people! Please go pick up your copy.
